Counterfeit Detection and Cash Counting Equipment |

Solution Finder A. Cash Counters What is the difference between your BC 130 Plus, LDS900/980 and other low-cost note counters? The difference lies in the sophistication of the counterfeit detection capability! Other low-cost note counters generally feature a single forgery detection system such as UV detection and are configured to work with multiple currencies. The BC 130 Plus Note Counter, on the other hand, has been specifically configured to work with Sterling and Euro banknotes (switchable) and features the same magnetic code detection as the CT 1100 and CT 330 Plus Forgery Detectors together with a specially adapted Infra-red detection and also UV detection. The LDS900 Note Counter features quadruple forgery detection and can also be configured to count other currencies such as Scottish/NI banknotes by simply deactivating one or more of the counterfeit detections. Both units feature size detection to detect rogue notes within a stack e.g. a £10 note in a bundle of £20 notes. Banknote Counters supplied by Laurel Data Supplies are of rugged construction and have proved to be exceptionally reliable in service!
Friction Counter or Weighing Scales
It all depends on your requirements. If you have large numbers of banknotes to count and forgery detection is a primary concern then you will be better off purchasing one of our Friction counters such as the BC 130 Plus or LDS900. However, if you are looking for a unit to count both notes and coins then you will be better off with one of our Currency Weighing Scales such as the Tellermate or Omal CountEasy. These units are supplied with a small Forgery Detector free of charge.
B. Counterfeit Detectors I am looking for an effective solution which will identify even the highest quality, professionally produced forgeries Then you need to consider our CT 300/CT 330 Plus (desktop) detectors which both feature the very latest magnetic code detection technology. This looks for the presence of hidden data within the security thread of all Sterling and Euro banknotes and is generally considered to be one of the most reliable forgery detection technologies. The CT 300 is one of the fastest Fake Note Detectors on the market today and provides a highly secure form of counterfeit detection. The CT 330 Plus features no less than FOUR separate detection systems meaning that for a note to be accepted as genuine it must pass four separate but simultaneous tests! The CT 330 Plus is also updatable in case of new note issues. I am concerned about the effect on my customer relations if the unit I purchase generates ‘false negatives’ i.e. identifying genuine notes as forgeries This can be a problem with some of the traditional forms of counterfeit detectors whereas a good quality detection device should never flag genuine notes as forgeries! The CT 300/CT 330 Plus, for example, have both been extensively tested by three European Central Banks with a 100% success rate in detecting both forged and genuine notes! So you don’t recommend the traditional forms of counterfeit detection? Although it could be argued that 'any detector is better than none' there is a very real danger that users could be lulled into a false sense of security! Traditional forms of counterfeit detection such as UV lamps and Detector Pens may not detect high-quality professional forgeries since methods of replicating the UV marks on banknotes are widely known and the special paper checked by Detector Pens can be mimicked by professional forgers.! It is significant that these devices no longer appear in lists of forgery detectors which are tested by Central Banks!
